A Maniacal Business Approach

This past week, my new boss made a presentation on what his expectations were.  In his presentation, he spelled out his terms.  Specifically, that our sales team should have a “maniacal approach when conducting business.”

I’v only come across that word a few times, so I decided to look up the meaning of “maniacal.”

According to dictionary.com, maniacal means:

— adj
1. affected with or characteristic of mania
2. characteristic of or befitting a maniac: maniacal laughter

Now tell me, why on this Earth would I want that for myself?

So what is maniacal laughter?

Am I supposed to be maniacally laughing at my job?
