A recent study was published today (9/13/12) in the journal Trends in Genetics argues that humans are becoming less intelligent due to the lack of evolutionary pressure that we once faced with hunter-gatherer days. With more life and death situations encountered, our intellectual abilities were optimized creating more intellectual genes.
Though the argument makes a great case, it doesn’t necessarily take a scientist to compound this data. Just watch television, go to the mall, your local fast food joint or any corporate office and you’ll notice that humans are less keen toward making rational thoughts.
The article does prove a good point though. I’ve always wondered where our species is moving toward. I think this picture sums it up.
